Hello everyone, and welcome back!

Myself and all the UCSU team hope that you are all sufficiently rested and have had a wonderful time with friends and family over the festive break.

This is a fresh new start for many of us, an opportunity for us to reflect upon our successes and challenges of last year, and put our efforts into making 2017 far more brilliant and momentous than any year before!

Some of my intentions for this term include; -Continue in reaching the highest level of my potential in improving the standard of the student experience, health and happinness at the UoC, -achieving my campaign mandates to the best possible outcome, -Continuing my personal growth and development, and to encourage everyone else to do the same, in the most gratifying ways.

There are many more, but I'll keep this report brief.

Myself and the other two Officers will be making our best effort to come and see you, on whichever campus you are based at. So keep a look out for us with ideas for how you think we can make Student life better for you.

If you have any issues concerning Accomodation issues, have ideas on how to improve Student Health, Happiness and Wellbeing, come and see me, or drop me an email at rowan.cooper-gritten@cumbria.ac.uk

We're still in winter, so we're going to need to keep spreading warmth , friendliness and light between us all. I give some to you through the picture of a fire I lit while on holiday!

Monday 16th January is 'Blue Monday' which is statistically the gloomiest and most depressing day of the year - but it doesn't have to be! I will be thinking up heart-warming and spirit-lifting things to do, to cheer us all up on that day.

Looking forward to seeing you around,

Rowan
