Located at Ambleside Campus, the Biodiversity and Conservation Society is designed to help you get close to the amazing wildlife that resides here in the Lake District and surrounding areas. Activities you can expect to join will include setting up camera traps, pond/river-dipping, rockpooling, bat detecting, toad patrols, building bug/reptile hotels, going on nature walks, developing species ID skills, visiting special breeding sites and more! We also aim to invite guest speakers, and volunteer with local organisations to monitor wildlife and help care for the environment.
Many of these activities and skills may help towards your career advancement if you are looking for a job in conservation or the outdoors, or you could simply develop a new lifelong hobby. You can also make friends with other like-minded people who share a passion for nature.
